Sing when yer whinin'
ROBBIE WILLIAMS has been forced to leave his beloved pet dogs in quarantine after fleeing back to America.

The lonely singer had flown his canine companions to Britain from Los Angeles in March because he missed them.

Then Robbie got bored in his rented Sussex mansion and decided to head back to his LA pile — leaving his precious pooches still cooped up.

Our quarantine laws insist any pet brought over from America has to spend SIX MONTHS in kennels under supervision before it can be released to the owner.

So Robbie, whose 2000 album was called Sing When You’re Winning, will have to wait another THREE MONTHS before his German shepherds are back home in LA.

An insider told me: “Robbie loves his dogs and he really missed them when he first came back home.

“He was supposed to be here until late autumn so he thought it would be worthwhile flying them over because he missed them so much.

“Then he just got itchy feet rattling around that big mansion on his own and realised he missed LA.

“He couldn’t take the dogs straight away because of quarantine rules.

“But as soon as they are allowed to go, he’ll get them flown straight back.”

Just like other dog owners, Robbie had to get a health certificate issued by a vet to confirm his dogs were in good health and fit to travel to Britain.

He has a collection of dogs — mostly German shepherds — who stay with him at his sprawling Hollywood mansion.

He also has a wolf named Sid after the late SEX PISTOLS legend SID VICIOUS. Robbie is now back in America writing material for his sixth studio album. It isn’t expected out until some time next year.

As well as his new tunes and his on-going ambition to crack the US charts, Robbie is keen to make a name for himself on the big screen.

He recently made his movie debut as a wedding singer in De-Lovely, the new £10million musical drama about music legend COLE PORTER.

It also features big music names such as ELVIS COSTELLO, SHERYL CROW, MICK HUCKNALL and ALANIS MORISSETTE.

Robbie has also put his energies into getting back in shape after he piled on the pounds scoffing junk food.

In the last few months he has managed to shed 2st on the controversial Atkins Diet — and is looking better than ever.

However, his new lean frame hasn’t attracted any girlfriends since he split from ROD STEWART’s ex, RACHEL HUNTER, early last year.

Robbie loves his dogs so much that he put them into a six-month quarantine... ?? Aha.

And why can't they go back to the States now? That's where they came from? Hmmmmm.

Who knows if thats true...The sun is telling a lot to make a story out of ithttp://www.mainzelahr.de/smile/traurig/upset01.gif
megastar - 03.06.2004 - 12:55

The Sun certainly loves our Robbie - so I cannot complain about the paper - at least we are getting half truths about Robbie and seeing a picture - it is nearly a year for UK fans that saw Robbie performing or doing anything.
As far as I am aware - any dog that comes into the country has to stay in quarantine for 6 months to check for rabies - I know that you can take a dog to Europe - with a dog passport as long as the dog has had the inoculations. But I think that is on a day trip or something.
Madeline - 03.06.2004 - 13:25

Well, i also think no one ever saw any picture of the dogs being in the uk. So who knows if they really were with him or if thy stayed back in the US.
Who knows. I haven't seen anything. But to be honest, I do not care about.
I'm sure rob does know where his dogs are, thats the important thing ;)
Phoebe - 03.06.2004 - 15:28

No wonder we didn't see any pics of the dogs in the UK......they're locked away for six months(if it's true!)

If it is I think it's really selfish to put your dogs in quarantine for such a long time.
I've seen a documentary about dogs in quarantine and it was horrible.
Really dirrty and all the dogs looked sooo sad.
I had to switch it off 'coz I imagined my dogs in this tiny, dirty cage, surrounded by hundreds
of other crying dogs.I certainly wouldn't do this to my dogs and really don't get the meaning
of this stupid law.

Suze - 03.06.2004 - 16:03

Yes, it is a horrible law but rabies is an even more horrible disease. I'm sure Rob loves his dogs and he hasn't made the decision to go back to LA lightly for just that reason.
DiB - 03.06.2004 - 16:06

If the tabloids spent two minutes of fact-checking they'd find out these laws have been relaxed between the US and the UK. The six month quarantine rule went out last year.

lol

and thats what i think..why give any shit to what they write here?
They just need another good story about Rob. After his stay in the UK, his affair with his gardener lol, after his spitting at the paparazzi now his dogs are the "stars"
well, don't mind be saying this but it seems really strange that they now made a story out of Robs Dogs. Summer's boring huh?
:D

From www.visitbritain.com

Pet Travel Scheme

The recently introduced Pet Travel Scheme means that cats and dogs from North America can now visit Great Britain with their owners!

From December 11th, 2002, the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) covers dogs and cats coming into Britain from the USA and Canada. This means that any dog or cat which meet the scheme's requirements will be able to enter Britain without going into quarantine for six months.

These requirements include having the animals microchipped and vaccinated by a veterinarian, together with a blood test at least six months before traveling. Pet owners are responsible for ensuring their animal meets the scheme's conditions and that they have the relevant documentation to prove it.

megastar - 04.06.2004 - 08:51

Thanks - interesting - But does that mean you can take dogs back into the States too?
JoanneUK - 04.06.2004 - 10:02

Vlatka - 04.06.2004 - 21:59

Sandra - 04.06.2004 - 22:11

Customs regulations for dogs coming into the US:

Cats and dogs are inspected by a quarantine officer at port of arrival. If there is evidence of ill-health, the owner must pay for a veterinarian for further examination of the animal.
In addition, dogs (except for puppies less than three months of age) require rabies vaccination not less than one month and not more than 12 months before arrival.

A certificate of rabies vaccination signed by a licensed veterinarian must accompany the dog. This certificate should identify the dog and specify the date of vaccination and of expiration and the type of vaccine used.
No rabies vaccination is required for dogs that during six months or more preceding their arrival in the USA have been in ... , Great Britain and Nothern Ireland, ....

Suze - 06.06.2004 - 16:41

I think Sammy's a cross between a labrador and a pitbull terrier. Robbie descibed him as a vicious gossip.
Vlatka - 07.06.2004 - 21:08

Sammy's the one with Rob at the end of LA Cribs. :)

Karin - 07.06.2004 - 22:31

I thought Sammy was a snake! :D

(Sorry, lame joke - never mind - some people will understand!)

Nic - 07.06.2004 - 22:38

JoanneUK - 08.06.2004 - 08:18
