Don't you dare cut the hair Rob!!!! He looks soo good- It's great to see him looking happy + relaxed :p
ROBFAN4LIFE - 03.05.2004 - 18:03
Rob certainly looks very cute in that pic...love to see him smiling and looking happy :) I don't know I think his hair looked fine the last time I saw him without the hat and he's been wearing that thing constantly so we don't really know when or even if he cut his hair...if he did then its probably for the Cannes performance - me thinks.
Madeline - 03.05.2004 - 18:10
I thought it would look a bit like the new Johnny Depp haircut, ya know?
A little longer, but i really find that cool in a way. :D

LOL dwr, you're in heavy picture-editing-mood today, aren't you?
BTW if anyone has noticed the fantastic 'eyes'-header on this forum, dwr made that for us today :) Thanks very much again!
Vlatka - 03.05.2004 - 23:05
The eyes-header is wonderful dwr :D

Madeline - 03.05.2004 - 23:23
Well, really strange that the pic already was post on Fans supreme.
Really interesting :@
(sorry, but I could get furious about arrggh!)
brokeblonde - 03.05.2004 - 23:27
Guess I'll have to find out who the spy is and delete her/him.
Did they give credits at least?
Madeline - 03.05.2004 - 23:29
My friend just told me that the one who did post that photo did write "thanks to broke blonde"
Its really strange. But well, not to change i guess %)
But deleting the 'spion' is a good idea actually.

But isn't that what fan sites are about - helping each other out with topics news and pictures - as long as the website is acknowledged I see no harm in it. Also it does add interest for fellow fans to visit the site with the latest items, like this one, BB site is slightly different and has different pics and topics, which I like. Also fans have posted up here items from other sites I am afraid the internet is not exculsive - I have been guilty of getting info etc - not always from this site but from others, so please don't think of banning me ~_~ So I will be off to the other site to get the picture. He looks good - don't you think? Do you think there is a ponytail lurking behind him? Also I am off to get a scanner :D
megastar - 04.05.2004 - 05:34
BB - the eyes have it!!
As to regards to the above answer - I suppose if the poster who did take the trouble to scan and do all the extra work for us objects then that is a fair enough. Thanks for doing it for us.

I agree with that, but more often than not there is no awknowledgement whatsoever and that is just wrong! People sometimes forget it is quite a lot of work to scan things, to find news, etc. It used to take me lots and lots of time when I still had my fansite, and when you put something really good on, like screencaps which took you ages to get, then it's not nice it's on another site 5 minutes after you've put it on.

brokeblonde - 04.05.2004 - 10:54
I agree with everything Karin said. The person who scans the pic actually has to go out and buy the paper, scan the picture, and put it up on some webspace. I just find it fair to say 'thank you', and if you take the picture somewhere else, to say where you got it from. That's not too much to ask, is it?
dayswithrobbie - 04.05.2004 - 11:01
This is not about "oh I want to keep my pictures for myself, so hands off", this is, as Karin put it, about giving credit for someones efforts. But what´s even more annoying for webmasters is this popular bad habit of excessive picture linking in certain message boards which is stealing enourmous bandwith, increasing traffic and involving higher server costs.
Karin - 04.05.2004 - 11:08
I'm so happy I'm not responsible for the server costs of my site, as there is indeed a lot of linking going on...I find pictures from my site everywhere.
But also, some sites just take. And then I do think 'get your hands off my stuff and get something yourself for once'! It's nice when you have things on your site no-one else has though, as it brings you visitors.
Madeline - 04.05.2004 - 11:42
Well, its really not about "Its mine, hands off and do not post at any other site"
Its just a bit annoying when people come and just take pictues away to post it without any credit.
So, if there are credits, there is nothing against it.
I think thats not even worth to discuss.
If someone takes a picture, just give credits and things are fine. :)

Why is it not worth to discuss that? Do you have a website? Cos when I used to have my old one, I'd edit lots and lots of interviews, take screencaps, scan endless articles, make wallpapers, etc. etc. Every time I added something to my site which had cost me hours to do, it would be on another site the same day and it only took them 5 minutes to copy and paste. Credit or no credit, it annoyed me a big deal as it is very easy to have a website if all you do is take. If you want to have a succesful website, you do need to put time and effort in is my opinion and it just doesn't seem fair if you don't.
I'm not talking about a specific website here btw.

You misunderstood. I was not talking about its not worth to talk about taking any pictures from other people. I also think thats not really fair. What I meant is more the thing happened now. Not in generally, just the thing now. I don't care bout anyone's using my picture. But I do not like when anyone is taking without permission or even credits. Thats something I also do not find really fair or whatever.
Anyway, I only hope if people wanna take pictures from other sites, they'll be fair enough to ask or to post credits.

Wow, he's looking good :)
Hair's short :D Looks great!
Thanks Vlatka!
dayswithrobbie - 04.05.2004 - 14:19
Honestly from the mini size of the pics and that dark backround I can´t see anything or tell that he´s looking good or bad. Anyways, thanks for that, Vlatka :)
Nic - 04.05.2004 - 14:47
The suit is nice but that's all I can see really... they're too small! Thanks anyway! When you save them and then zoom in they go all blurry.... damn! !@#$
brokeblonde - 04.05.2004 - 15:30
I'm having trouble even recognizing him on those tiny pics... LOL.
megastar - 04.05.2004 - 16:39
Honestly - he did look good - in one paper they had the third pic with him showing the thumbs up sign in full length and he looked happy, slim and of course his hair suits him off his face. In another paper they had just a small print of him sticking to fingers up. Typical Robbie.
JoanneUK - 04.05.2004 - 17:44
i get really irritated when you cant get these pics bigger.. wanna see his eyes, you cane tell alot about him from them, he looks damn fine from what you can see though.... i love the ICA... its a very trendy arts place
ROBFAN4LIFE - 04.05.2004 - 18:45
Those pics are so small...he does look happy though which is nice to see!
Vlatka - 04.05.2004 - 19:56
I know they are too small. When I just remember the old days when we had 3 online galleries to enlarge & save the pics from. !@#$
Anyway, one weekly magazine here takes pictures from Rex Features. If they'll have a clear bigger pic I'll scan it.
JoanneUK - 04.05.2004 - 19:58
hope they print them Vlatka,,,, im looking forward to seeing them in a bit more detail.
JoanneUK - 04.05.2004 - 20:00
I love Matt Lucas and David Walliams..... they are hilarious, my friends and I met them on the train back from a Rob concert in London in Oct 2000....i was so excited!!
Nic - 04.05.2004 - 20:00
fingers crossed! :p
Vlatka - 04.05.2004 - 20:24
That's really cool Joanne. I must admit I don't even know who they are lol. ~0
JoanneUK - 04.05.2004 - 21:38
they have a comedy show called Little Britain, its the funniest thing on TV. They used to do Rock profiles on a satellite channel. They are very very funny
Suze - 05.05.2004 - 16:24
I love Rob's smart new look, I suppose it's for Cannes. I wish he'd come in fancy dress though.
Claire - 06.05.2004 - 09:46
It seems as if Rob will be doing a duet with Alanis Morissette at the festival.
Nic - 06.05.2004 - 20:56
That sounds promising! :)
JoanneUK - 07.05.2004 - 17:10
I like her music, her first album is one of my favourites
Nic - 07.05.2004 - 18:20
Haven't listened to it for years though, will have to dig it up...
JoanneUK - 07.05.2004 - 19:56
dig it up? have you buried it in the garden

Actually I do love her music. The new single is awesome. :) But I never heard her sing a Cole Porter song or anything of that style with her voice.

Marieke - 13.05.2004 - 11:12
This thread feels just like 'dottie home'! ;) Anyway, picked up on the potential haircut issue in another thread and was kinda desparate for a pic! Thanks all! Still curious to see a better pic though. Although I sort of liked the longer hair as well, I am glad he hasn't committed another hairstyle disaster. :D
megastar - 13.05.2004 - 13:58
More news on Cannes - do you think we could sit on a rock somewhere!!! I would love to go and cheer him on - wave my Robbie banner just to show the Hollywood lot a thing or two!!!! Wonders never cease, Robbie is listed first, a reporter who knows what is what.
Other notable bashes this year will include a seaside soiree for the world premiere of "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers," and the not-to-miss closing-night event for MGM's musical drama "De-Lovely."
When the festival officially moved its closing night to Saturday evening with an awards presentation followed by the showing of Irwin Winkler's "De-Lovely," MGM teamed with fest organizers for a party, concert and fireworks. Organizers have built a stage in Cannes harbor on top of a rocky outcrop big enough for 2,500 people. Guests will be treated to live performances from Robbie Williams, Alanis Morissette, Lamar, Lara Fabian, Mario Frangoulis, Natalie Cole and Sheryl Crow.
Reuters/Hollywood Reporter
ROBFAN4LIFE - 13.05.2004 - 15:45
Wish I could be there too !!! Hopefully they'll show something on tv about it but I'm not holding my breath...I could just see it they'll show everyone else except Rob ... well here in the good old Rob-Deprived US !!!
Maybe Mr. Spielberg will look and see just what he's missing :D
Nic - 13.05.2004 - 19:49
Channel 4 will have reports from Cannes every day!
JoanneUK - 13.05.2004 - 20:55
ohhh well done for finding that Nic, GMTV and things like that always have reports as well.
Nic - 13.05.2004 - 20:58
Finding that? I was just watching the news and they mentioned it.... :D
megastar - 13.05.2004 - 22:11
So does Sky News - with Gorgie Arnold - today it was mentioned that Brad Pitt's acting in Troy is -- errr the Pitts. #) That will teach him to turn up on the red carpet in sun glasses and look the big I am! Anyway - we still could go and support Robbie, there were loads of people behind the barriers - do you think Robbie will walk on the red carpet? because if he did I would book my flight!! I bet you any money Robbie will not get a mention - shall we have a bet on it? We always have high expectations only to have it flattenned. The press always praise other artists only to find out that Robbie stole the show all along. %) ~0
Vlatka - 14.05.2004 - 10:46
Megastar, I don't think most people would be willing to spend loads of money organising a trip to Cannes only to see Rob for 1 minute on the red carpet. :~
I would do that only if I was insanely rich. ;)
megastar - 14.05.2004 - 14:24
I would do it and I am not mega rich - I would make it part of my holiday. I could go camping and make daily trips in ;) I view that you have to make the most of life and if that means being a bit reckless I would do it.
Vlatka - 14.05.2004 - 20:02
Well, Cannes is a very expensive place to go to, especially at this time of the year. A person would have to be rich at least to some extent, or work for an airline as BB put it. I guess I look at it from a different angle.
