SAN JUAN (AP) – Puerto Rican recording artist Ricky Martin, who heads a campaign for children’s rights, called for justice in the child molestation case against pop icon Michael Jackson.
“I want justice to be done,” said Martin, who was in Puerto Rico to launch a campaign against sexual exploitation of children as part of his new charitable foundation “People for Children.”
"I am not claiming he is guilty or innocent… I am just saying that if he is guilty the authorities should do their job,” said Martin.
The Jackson trial is scheduled to begin on September 13, but the date is subject to change.
Jackson, 45, is accused of engaging in lascivious with a minor, administering a toxic substance to a minor, and conspiracy to kidnap a minor.
