Hi,
There is a big discussion on other RW forums about first word that robbie sings in How pecualiar so i was wondering what do you hear?
I would say he says cows

I thought it sounded more like house although that doesn't really make sense...

I thought it was cows, too, cause there's moo-ing after it, isn't there...??

i think its cows too..... its very odd but that is one of my very fave songs... love the ending!

I'd suggest it's "chaos" he says in the beginning.

Nic78
Now that DOES make sense!

I always thought it was 'cows' too but Claire's suggestion seems much better.

It does and I think she's right but I'd have to listen to the song....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nic78
Nah it's house....

Claire
I think you hardly hear the "C". First I also thought he says "house" but that didn't make much sense in my eyes. So running through the rest of the lyrics, I ended up believing it's "chaos" but I'm not claiming anything here.

it probably says somthing that doesnt mean anything as he said himself he made half the lyrics up to that song as he was singing it, so it probably could be something random
That's why I always thought it was COWS - I definitely hear the 'C' sound as well, but I never thought it was 'chaos'. Doesn't anyone else indentify those following sounds as mooh-ing? ;)
I always thought it sounded pretty 'country'.
Chaos
I am all of the above babe
Johny ... to the grave
Saving all the stamps
Spend it on a kettle
Rub me rub me up right lovely
If you lick it then lick it battery
Good and properly all night if you want
I haven't got a clue what to do with you
Need for you to love me so much
Jesus what am I going to do with this crush
So get the old fella and whack it up against her tush
How peculiar
Bend your long legs against the sofa
In the Dorchester
You can eat your All Bran
I'm not into heart sports
Oh I haven't got a clue what to do with you
Jesus all the things my head's going through
God what am I going to do with this crush
Just whack the old man out and get it up against her tush
How peculiar
Jesus what am I to do man
I am a depressed man
Not sure what I'm doing
All of the day
How peculiar
I am all of the above man
I am what you want man
If you want me here I am
Come and get it baby

there is no sense to half of what he writes... noise, rhyme, lucky guess? thats some of his lyrics in a nutshell
Well, I see sense in a lot of his lyrics.
Even if the most is a bit disguised or whatever. There are a lot of things in there, for me, which just express kinda confusion in a weird way.
Well, of course you never can be sure of, cos it didn't came out of your own mind, but I think every song does mean someting different to someone or touches us in different ways.
I think it also does depend on the listener.
Anyway, cows, chaos or house.
Whatever it is, it sounds kinda scary to me. %)
To be honest, I almost never listen that till the end...
I remember looking it up last year and "mushroom" as a verb means to grow, expand rapidly. So that could make sense. Put your hands across the water, spread... :)
i wasnt saying all his lyrics didnt mean anything , i just said some, i mean in Monsoon... Idont think Mushroom is the most meaning ful of things, maybe he was just looking for a word to rhyme...I agree, his lyrics do mean a lot to people and understand them in different ways
I haven't meant that you are saying that his lyrics are without sense.
sorry if you understood this way. Wasn't meant.
And sorry if my english is a bit shitty sometimes
%) :D
and
'I'm not into hard sports' ...
You know, sometimes actually BUYING an album is quite helpful, as Rob's albums always come with this little booklet that has got the lyrics... ;) (although, admittedly, he sometimes doesn't sing what's in it, lol).
Your English is very good Madeline...far better than my attempts at any language
Thanx Joanne :)
I like making my own lyrics up, I always think he says things he doesnt.. and mine are so funny
For example? you're good at hearing things the wrong way... Still have to raid Woolworths!

For those of you that have never heard of the expresssion 'blowing a rasberry' it's very simple to copy. All you need to do is to place your arm or hand (but the inside of your elbow is best ;) ) to your lips as if you ar going to kiss it and then blow onto your arm, hand or elbow and the noise that you should get from it should be more or less the same noise as Rob makes depending as to how good you are at it! :D
The only other explenation for the noise is that after saying whatever it is that he says, he just lets of a massively loud fart and they all thought that it was that funny that they would leave it in on the song! ;)
