Gestern habe Ich meine Bremsbelaege vorn erneuert.
Gruesse,
Yoan.
Today I mounted my brake-pads at the front. I chose to demount the whole caliper. You can also renew your pads by not demounting the caliper but personally I like workspace and it gives you the opportunity to clean your brake-pistons.
This workshop showes the left calliper. The right is the same method.
TOOLS
Allan keys
Flat bladed/Philips screwdriver
Sandpaper
Brake-cleaner
Brake-fluid
copper slip
check your brake-fluid level. When you oush the brake-pistons back into the calliper the level will rise. If the level is too high you can lower it a bit by bleeding.

Remove A whilst the caliper is still mounted to the fork. You will be able to use more force then. These screws are often very tight so use a bit of bodyweight. Remove the screw and LOOSEN (not remove) the allan pad pin.
Loosen and remove the bolts B and push backwards the whole caliper and release it from the disk. Push aside the hoses, a bit of juggling (careful for the rim) until the caliper is free from the fork..

Remove pad-pin C by pulling it out.

Now you can remove the pads

clean the pistins and remove other dirt with brake-cleaner

Push the brake-pistons back into the caliper. Use your fingers or an old brake-pad (watch the brakefluid level!)
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i273/YOAN1/9.jpg
Put a little copper slip on the backside of the pads.(original the pads are accompanied by shims against sqeeking. You can use those if you want to with your new pads..
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i273/YOAN1/10.jpg
Make sure the end of each pad locates correctly against the guide in the bracket.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i273/YOAN1/11.jpg
Clean the pad pin with some sandpaper and grease it a bit with copper-slip
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i273/YOAN1/12.jpg
Mount the pad near to the pistons by pushing the pad pin C through the hole in the caliper and the pad. Push the pads a bit down while you do this.. You can feel there’s a spring at the bottom of the caliper.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i273/YOAN1/13.jpg
Add the second pad en tighten the padpin. NOT LOCKTIGHT!!! You can use more strength when the caliper is mounted again to the fork.
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i273/YOAN1/14.jpg
Put the caliper back on the fork and disc and tighten bolts B. Tighten the pad-pin and mount screw A.(add a tiny bit of copper slip on the screw)
Do the same method for the right caliper
Check fluidlevel, Fill up if neccesary, bleed the front brake and pump the lever a couple of times until ypu feel the pressure again and feels tight again. I once forgot to do that and my first braking I did on the road nothing happened. So beware. COLOR]
