I just listened to that and I love it so much, his voice is lovely, I love the lyric about I dont likeclever people, clever people drop the bomb, so simple yet bloody accurate

JoanneUK - 09.05.2004 - 13:12
and your verdict is....??
Vlatka - 09.05.2004 - 15:06
Like that one as well, although I prefer Big Beef on the single.
JoanneUK - 09.05.2004 - 15:07
i do love Big Beef, love how the lyrics are so viscious and yet the tune is so cheerful!
dayswithrobbie - 09.05.2004 - 15:30
.. and I always wondered who this is about. Any idea?
Vlatka - 09.05.2004 - 15:42
No idea...but it's a great tune.
Nic - 09.05.2004 - 16:32
Hm it's a nice song but doesn't really do anything for me... not that it's bad, it's just... average i think.

no idea, there are so many people in life who have annoyed him to the extent that person had... i love it, I love his vengeful songs, I can really relate to them sometimes

Today I had the time to listen to the tunes I was given lately, and it's a really exciting situation cause they are about 13 or 15 songs I listened to for the first time. So it's like getting a new album. *lol* And I like Karaoke Star, Appliance Of Sience, Summertime and United very much. But don't ask me about the lyrics yet, please.:p
Nic - 13.05.2004 - 19:47
So Claire, what do you think about the lyrics? :D :p
JoanneUK - 13.05.2004 - 20:51
yeh Claire, tell us!!!
Claire - 14.05.2004 - 10:37

Nic - 14.05.2004 - 11:22

Finally I made it and got all the songs on my mp3-player to be able to listen closely. And although my English language capacity is far beyond to be called fairly good, I would say "Appliance of Science" is a reflection on how far our society has gone. Nowadays you can be anyone, anything cause the means are there. A life between traditional values and the freedom where you're seemingly able to anything you want. But never forget to be yourself, keep being true to yourself. Does that make sense somehow?
Maybe I am interpreting here far too much and Rob never intended to cause any of the ideas alike, so he would probably laugh about my explanations. But that's what I love about lyrics, books etc. as it ain't important what the author had in mind but what you get out of it, right?
JoanneUK - 26.05.2004 - 21:02
you arevery deep and meaning ful today Claire!
Claire - 27.05.2004 - 14:06
Just today? ;-)
Anyway, I take that as a compliment if you don't mind, Joanne. :)
